Description of hell from qur'aan and hadith
Overskrift 1

And indeed he (Satan) did lead astray a great multitude of you. Did you not,
then, understand? This is Hell which you were promised! Burn therein this Day, for that you used to disbelieve!

-The Noble Qur'an 36:62-64

Description of Hell

Did you ever wonder what hell was like? Did you think it was some lie devised to keep kids honest? If you did, this article may change your mind. Do not be frightened. It is time you read an article similar to this one.

Hell is a pit with seven stories. In the lowest are the roots of the tree zaqqum which reaches to the top of hell with its fruits of demons' heads. Torments include intense cold and intense heat; when the skins of the wicked have been burnt off, new ones grow that the torment may be renewed.

Noble Quran 2: 23-24
And if ye are in doubt as to what we have revealed from time to time to Our servant then produce a chapter like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (if there are any) besides Allah if ye are truthful. But if ye cannot-and of a surety ye cannot- then fear the Fire whose fuel is men and stones, which is prepared for those who reject Faith.

Noble Quran 21: 37-40
Man is a creature of haste: soon will I show you My signs; so ask Me not to hasten them! They say: When will this promise come to pass, if ye are telling the truth? If only the unbelievers knew the time when they will not be able to ward off the Fire from their faces, nor yet from their backs, and no help can reach them! Nay, it will come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they then get respite.

Noble Quran 21: 98-100
Verily ye, (unbelievers), and the gods you worship besides Allah, are but fuel for Hell! To it will ye surely come! If these had not been gods, they would not have got there! But each one will abide therein. There, sobbing will be their lot, nor will they there hear (aught else).

noble Quran 66: 6-7
O ye who believe! Save yourselves and your families from a fire whose fuel is men and stones, over which are appointed angels stern and severe, who flinch not from executing commands they receive from Allah, but do precisely what they are commanded. It will be said," o ye unbelievers! Make no excuses this day! Ye are being requited for all that ye did!"

Noble Quran 74: 11-31
Leave me alone, to deal with the creature whom I created bare and alone! To whom I granted resources in abundance, and sons to be by his side! To whom I made life smooth and comfortable! Yet he is greedy- that I should add yet more; by no means!! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! For he thought and he determined; and woe to him! How he determined! Yea, woe to him: how he determined! Then he reflected! Then he frowned and he scowled; then he turned back and was haughty; then said he,"this  is nothing but magic, derived from of old; this is nothing but the word of a mortal!" Soon I will cast him into Hell-Fire!! And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? Naught doth permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone! Darkening and changing the color of man! Over it are nineteen. And we have set none but angles as guardians of the Fire; and we have fixed their number only as a trial for the unbelievers; -in order that the people of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the believers may increase in faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Book and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say," What doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: And none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He, and this is no other than a reminder to mankind.

Noble Quran 77: 29-34
It will be said," Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! Depart ye to a shadow of smoke ascending in three columns, which yields no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce blaze. Indeed it throws about sparks as huge as forts, as if there were a string of yellow camels marching swiftly." Ah woe, that day to the rejecters of the Truth!

noble Quran 78: 21-30
Truly Hell is a place of Ambush. For the trangressors a place of destination: they will dwell therein for ages. Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold- a fitting recompense for them. For that they used not to look for any account for their deeds, but they impudently treated Our signs as false and all things have we preserved on record. So taste ye the fruits of your deeds; for no increase shall we grant you, except in chastisement.

noble Quran 104: 6-9
The fire of Allah kindled to a blaze, that which doth mount to the hearts. It shall be made into a vault over them, in columns outstretched.

Hadith - Sahih Muslim #6813 :

Thereupon Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said: Do you know what (sound) is this? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Thereupon he said: That is a stone which was thrown seventy years before in Hell and it has'been constantly slipping down and now it has reached its base.

Hadith - Sahih Muslim #6815:

Samura b. Jundub reported Allah's Apostle (may peace -be upon him) as saying: There will be some to whose

Hadith - Sahih Muslim #6816:

Samura b. Jundub reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: There would be among them

those to whom the fire will reach up to their ankles and to some of them the fire would reach their knees and to some it would reach their waists and to some it would reach up to their collar-bones.

Hadith - Qudsi 38
When Allah (swt) created Paradise and Hell-fire, He sent Gabriel to Paradise , saying: Look at it and at what I have prepared therein for its inhabitants. The Prophet  said: So he came to it and looked at it and at what Allah had prepared therein for its inhabitants. The Prophet said: So he returned to Him and said: By your glory, no one hears of it without entering it. So He ordered that it be encompassed by forms of hardship, and He said: Return to it and look at what I have prepared therein for its inhabitants. The Prophet  said: So he returned to it and found that it was encompassed by forms of hardship. Then he returned to Him and said: By Your glory, I fear that no one will enter it. He said: Go to Hell-fire and look at it and what I have prepared therein for its inhabitants, and he fount that it was in layers, one above the other. Then he returned to Him and said: By Your glory, no one who hears of it will enter it. So He ordered that it be encompassed by lusts. Then He said: Return to it. And he returned to it and said: By Your glory, I am frightened that no one will escape from entering it.

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 4:464, Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abbas
"...Then I saw the (Hell) Fire, and I have never before, seen such a horrible sight as that, and I saw that the majority of its dwellers were women." The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What is the reason for that?" He replied, "Because of their ungratefulness." It was said. "Do they disbelieve in Allah (are they ungrateful to Allah)?" He replied, "They are not thankful to their husbands and are ungrateful for the favors done to them. Even if you do good to one of them all your life, when she seems some harshness from you, she will say, "I have never seen any good from you.' "

Hadith - Reported by Darimi, Narrated Abu Sa'id
Allah's Messenger said: There dominate ninety-nine dragons over the unbeliever in the grave. They (constantly) bite him and sting him till there comes the hour (of resurrection). (These dragons are so poisonous) that if one of them exhales on the Earth, no verdure will ever grow upon it.

Hadith - Al-Tirmidhi, Narrated Abu Hurayrah  Transmitted by Tirmidhi
The Prophet  was asked about the things which would enable most people to enter Paradise . He answered: Being careful about one's obligations to Allah, and good behaviour. Thereafter, he was asked: What are those things which will lead a person into Hell? He answered: His mouth and genitals.

Hadith - Bukhari 8.485, Narrated Abu Huraira
The Prophet  said, "A slave (of Allah) may utter a word which pleases

Allah without giving it much importance, and because of that Allah will raise him to degrees (of reward): a slave (of Allah) may utter a word (carelessly) which displeases Allah without thinking of its gravity and because of that he will be thrown into the Hell-Fire."

Hell Affects the Seasons

Hadith - Bukhari, Narrated Abu Huraira
The Prophet  said, "In very hot weather delay the Zuhr prayer till it

becomes (a bit) cooler because the severity of heat is from the raging of the Hell-fire. The Hell-fire of Hell complained to its Lord saying: O Lord! My parts are eating (destroying) one another. So Allah allowed it to take two breaths, one in the winter and the other in the summer. The breath in the summer is at the time when you feel the severest heat and the breath in the winter is at the time when you feel the severest cold."
